In 2014, Coach Susan and Coach Mischa met their first summer camper who dreamed of continuing beyond the clinic and becoming a founding member of the River Town Racers. Seven years later, in 2021, that same athlete earned a silver medal at the Under-23 World Championships.

With Craig Caddell, the camper’s father, as co-founder, the club formally took shape. In 2018, River Town Racers incorporated as a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Since its founding, RTR has served nearly 100 young people from diverse backgrounds and across a wide range of abilities.
